4/27/11 -- Senior Chapel: Kyle Luttgeharm, Elizabeth Hill and Taggart Wall

On April 27, 2011, Senior Chapel took place at Southwestern. It was the last chapel of the semester and we were honored to hear from three of our seniors: Kyle Luttgeharm, Elizabeth Hill and Taggart Wall. 4/13/11 Chapel -- Mrs. Sarah Sours

On April 13, 2011, we had an outdoor chapel by the mound! The day was beautiful and it was wonderful to worship, fellowship and pray in God's creation. Mrs. Sarah Sours, visting scholar, spoke at chapel. She reminded the community to tell the truth and to watch their words. Listen here.

2/16/11 Student Chapel - "Light Up the World" with speakers Rutendo Jokomo, Meeka Gentry and Zach Castor

On February 16, 2011, we were privileged to hear from some of our very own students at Southwestern during student chapel. The theme was "Light up the World," and the student speakers were Rutendo Jokomo, Meeka Gentry and Zach Castor. A special offering was also taken for Haitian hunger relief. 12/1/10 Chapel -- Rev. Ashlee Alley

On December 1, 2010, Rev. Ashlee Alley spoke at chapel. Her message had a Christmas twist in order to celebrate the season in the last chapel of the semester! She spoke about the Magi in the Christmas story, and reminded students to think about what they really want for Christmas. With Advent in session, she reminded the students to look for true Peace, Love, Joy and Hope in the Christmas season. To listen, click here.

11/17/10 Chapel -- Rev. David Smith

On November 17, 2010, Rev. David Smith of Winfield FUMC spoke at chapel. He titled his message "Living a Life of Thrill" and reminded the SC community that faith in Jesus is thrilling! On October 13, 2010, Dr. Dawn Pleas-Bailey delivered a very personal and heart-felt message to the SC community. She challenged the students to really be there for one another, and she invited all to respond to God's call. When God calls, we must all respond with "I am listening!" On October 6, 2010, Rev. Ashlee Alley spoke at chapel. She preached from Galatians 6 and challenged our SC community to try the spiritual discipline of "Examen."
